India Hemp Organics works across the two distinct halves of the hemp plant: the seed, which is a food ingredient, and the leaf, which is used in their topical and Ayurvedic formulations. Hemp seed versus hemp leaf — what the difference means

• Hemp hearts are shelled hemp seeds. They are a food, carry no cannabinoids in meaningful amounts, and are eaten raw over salads, curd alternatives and porridge. They are a complete protein and a source of both omega-3 and omega-6 fats.
• Hemp protein powder is made from the seed cake left after oil pressing. It carries more fibre and a grassier taste than pea or soy isolate. Check protein per serving, not per 100g, and the scoop size.
• Cold-pressed hemp seed oil is a culinary and cosmetic oil. It should not be heated for cooking — the unsaturated fats degrade. Refrigerate after opening.
• Leaf-extract topicals are governed in India under AYUSH rather than as food supplements. Read the label for what it actually contains and at what percentage.
