Raw chia seeds from the plains of Madhya Pradesh, with the mild nutty taste and gel-forming texture the seed is known for. They swell into a soft gel within minutes of hitting liquid, which is what makes chia pudding work and what thickens a smoothie. Sold as a pack of two.
Key Features
Ingredients
Chia seeds.
How to Use
For chia pudding, stir two tablespoons into 150 ml of plant-based milk, leave in the fridge for at least four hours or overnight, and top with fruit. Sprinkle dry over oats, yoghurt or salads for crunch, or whisk into juices and smoothies. In baking they work as a binder when soaked first.

Good to Know
Always eat chia after it has soaked or alongside plenty of liquid — dry seeds swallowed by the spoonful can absorb moisture on the way down. Seed colour naturally ranges from grey-black to light brown in the same pack.
FAQs
Do I need to grind them?
No. Unlike flax, whole chia works as it is; soaking is what softens the outer coat.
How long do they take to gel?
You will see thickening in about 15 minutes, but a few hours or overnight gives the best pudding texture.
Can I add them straight to a hot drink?
You can, though they will start gelling immediately and clump, so stir well as you pour.
